Tim McAfee’s career in the produce industry is marked by strong relationships, hands-on expertise, and a drive for innovation. After earning a B.A. in Liberal Arts from the University of Montana, Tim joined Earthbound Farms in 1996, where he quickly took on broader responsibilities. Over the years, he has held leadership roles at companies such as Pure Pacific, Western Harvesting, and True Leaf Farms, managing operations across California, the East Coast, and Europe.
Tim’s entrepreneurial ventures include founding Cold Valley Farms in 2010, which pioneered frozen bulk juice supply for major juice brands, and Visionary Vegetables in 2019, a grower, packer, and shipper supporting Chipotle’s romaine, cilantro, kale, and spinach programs. In 2022, he co-founded a pathogen testing lab to advance food safety in the industry.
Recognized for his commitment to sustainability and innovation, Tim received Chipotle’s Produce Supplier of the Year (2022) and Sustainability Award (2023). He serves on the Leafy Green Marketing Agreement Board, continuing to foster innovation and sustainability in the produce industry.
